About this deal

You might find other books/series like the following might be good too (in case you haven't stumbled across them already):

The first Horrid Henry book was written and published in 1994 by Orion Books. Up until 2015, 24 official Horrid Henry titles were published in the series with a special one-off 25th Anniversary book, published in 2019. The series has sold more than 21 million copies worldwide. [3]

Horrid Henry has been a publishing phenomenon since 1994, and there’s no stopping him any time soon. The books have been published in 27 languages, selling over 21 million copies worldwide. This collection includes Horrid Henry and the Abominable Snowman, which won the Children’s Book of the Year Award in 2008. The Bafta-nominated TV series began on CITV in 2006 and ran for 250 episodes over thirteen years. The series has now moved to Netflix, which are producing new one-hour specials due to its continued popularity. The live-action Horrid Henry: The Movie was released in 2011, and there has also been video games and a stage play. On the other hand, Dad treats Henry really well in the later series and they start to have a bond which makes their relationships closer. Whereas Mum would tell Henry not to be horrid just for joking or being sarcastic which is why Henry does not get along with her, however she truly does care about her son and love him deep down. Continue the adventures with Henry with our Horrid Henry: The complete story collection 30 books box set. This collection contains the fantastic and mischievous tales of Horrid Henry plus the beloved illustrations by Tony Ross. This box set has 30 individual stories, enough to keep any little reader busy. We also have selected titles to suit different age groups, take a look for more ideas for your young readers, we have books for 0-5, 5-7, 7-9, 9-14 and YA for older readers. Henry is likely secretly very sensitive as his brother tends to get lots more affection than him, such as how Mum calls Peter honey bun, or bunny kins. This is probably what led Henry to dislike Peter so much, as he took all his parents attention from him.

Ramona Quimby, by Beverly Cleary (about a girl who gets into troubles because of various reasons- also like Horrid Henry in many ways) Ramona is quite popular with girls in the States (where I'm from); she may be little advanced for the 5 year old, but they're used as early readers/sight readers for kids so they could be a good book to grow into.It was revealed he didn't lose his first baby tooth until the episode " Horrid Henry and the Tooth Fairy".

I know how hooked kids get on the Horrid Henry books and I love their enthusiasm!' she says. 'But even Horrid Henry fans need to OCCASIONALLY read something else, and I know they would also adore Steven Butler's The Nothing To See Here Hotel, about a secret holiday resort for magical creatures. 'Henry fans will love the riotous humour, fantastic characters, and spiralling madness as the hotel copes with the arrival of the guest from hell, a goblin prince with a dark secret. Horrid Henry notably enjoys watching television, and his favourite shows include Mutant Max, Rapper Zapper and Terminator Gladiator. Henry and Peter often argue over who watches the television because Peter prefers to watch programs that Henry finds too babyish and boring. Horrid Henry is a mischievous troublemaker who has a few anger management issues and is a little bit over-exhilarant, with features of arrogance too. He is a bad-tempered, hot headed kid with a smart mouth. He's also extremely skeptical of authority, or just anything that kids stereotypically hate, such as school, but he's also a trendy kid who's always in on the latest trends. Due to his mischievous behaviour, he's disliked by most of his teachers. Henry is known to be horrid, but by Series 2, he had become nicer, and by series 3, he has become quite popular.

Hemley, Matthew (6 June 2008). "Godber to bring Horrid Henry to the stage | News". The Stage . Retrieved 14 January 2020. Most importantly, though, the books are very funny - and rude, too. Kids just get it. So what to read after you've gone through the 24 books in the series? For young readers who whizzed through Horrid Henry and want more funny and rude stories

It's not a huge surprise - there's so much to make Horrid Henryappealing, and these are often the first books children actually enjoy reading to themselves. What makes them so great? In the television series, Henry is noticeably more tame and human, particularly after series 2, whereas in the books, he is much more horrid and appears to have almost no redeeming qualities, often displaying some sociopathic traits. Throughout the series, Henry appears to be a 'horrid' boy, indicated by the people around him, including his parents and teacher. He appears to be around 10 years old until " Horrid Henry's Birthday" when he turns 11. Henry appears to turn 12 in " Horrid Henry's Birthday Bonanza" onward. There seems to be a popular fan theory that Henry has ADHD, dyslexia or is on the autism spectrum, although this is completely unconfirmed.
