About this deal

Flowerpot parasol (Leucocoprinus birnbaumii) – Dan Molter (shroomydan), CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons Morgan, A. P. (1907). "North American Species of Lepiota (Concluded)". The Journal of Mycology. 13 (1): 4. doi: 10.2307/3752459. ISSN 1052-0368. JSTOR 3752459– via www.jstor.org. Indoor identification of the Yellow Houseplant mushroom is really easy. If there are small yellow mushrooms growing alongside your houseplants, they are probably Leucocoprinus birnbaumii, or simply, yellow mushrooms. To be one hundred percent sure, you can identify them by looking for the following characteristics:

Gamillo, Elizabeth (2022-05-02). "Danish Biologists Cultivate Morel Mushrooms Year-Round With New Indoor Technique". Smithsonian Magazine . Retrieved 2022-07-12. Birkebak, Joshua M. (2010-06-24). "The genus Leucocoprinus in western Washington". Mycotaxon. 112 (1): 83–102. doi: 10.5248/112.83. ISSN 0093-4666– via www.ingentaconnect.com. However, when L.birnbaumii mushrooms suddenly appear in a plant pot which had shown no previous signs of them it doesn't mean the fungus has only just been introduced. Due to the length of time the mycelium requires to grow, it is more likely that the fungus was always present in the soil from the moment the plant (or compost used) was acquired and that the conditions for it to fruit have only recently been met. Mushroom production will occur when the moisture content of the soil and humidity of the air is adequate. Even when no mushrooms are visible the fungus may still be alive and thriving in the soil waiting for the next opportunity to fruit.Fries, Elias. Systema mycologicum: sistens fungorum ordines, genera et species, huc usque cognitas, quas ad normam methodi naturalis determinavit. Vol.2. Lundae: Ex Officina Berlingiana. p.253.

Bolton, James (1788). An history of fungusses, growing about Halifax ... Vol.1. [Huddersfield, Eng.]: Printed for the author and sold in Halifax by him. p.Plate 50 (Illustration). This fungus is part of the Amanitaceae family, a group that includes some of the most poisonous species of mushrooms in the world. The species was first described as Agaricus luteus in 1788 [4] by the English mycologist James Bolton who described an observation from a hothouse near Halifax, three years earlier in 1785. [5] Bolton also provided an illustration of the mushrooms. [6] At the time gilled species were classified as Agaricus and luteus comes from the Latin for yellow or yellow-orange. [7] Bolton suggested the common name of 'Yellow Cottony Agaric' in reference to the soft, scaly texture of the mushroom. [5]Now that you know what the yellow mushrooms do, you can decide what you are going to do about them: What Should I Do with the Yellow Mushrooms in My Potted Plants? You must be aware that vibrant colours will require more attention from you, so, to extend the life of your parasol and to better protect it against fading, we always recommend to our customers purchasing it with a protection cover for when it’s stored or not in use. This way the canopy will remain safe not only against fading but mould, tear and stains as well. a b Bolton, James (1788). An history of fungusses, growing about Halifax ... Vol.1. [Huddersfield, Eng.]: Printed for the author and sold in Halifax by him. p.50. Now that we know what they are, let’s find out what they are doing in your potting soil: Why Do I Have Yellow Mushrooms in My Houseplants, and What do They do? Leucocoprinus birnbaumii is one of the most common mushrooms of potted plants. That’s why it also got the name “ flowerpot parasol” or “ plantpot dapperlings.”

You can either choose a parasol and base separately or buy them together as a complete set. You’ll want to consider the sizing of your outdoor space, the amount of shade you want, and the style of parasol that will complement your outdoor area. Parasols Your soil is too wet. Make sure you are not overwatering your plants and they’re not in too much humidity. However, if this is the case, the plant would be showing other signs of overwatering like limp leaves, poor condition, or root rot. Hennings, P. (1898). Die in den Gewächshäusern des Berliner botanischen Gartens beobachteten Pilze (PDF) (in German). p.35.

Parasols are the finishing touch to your garden furniture. Not only parasols highly effective at providing shade on those super hot days, garden umbrellas can really bring your entire garden together. Whether you have rattan or wooden garden furniture, an overhanging parasol can create a stylish feel in your garden and flawlessly complement your current furniture. Parasols earn their name by looking like parasols (umbrellas). At full maturity, the caps are as big as dinner plates, or even bigger, with a slender stalk holding them up. It’s not a big enough umbrella for a human, but perfect for the little field mouse or beetle who wants to stay dry! The easiest thing to do, but also the most extreme, is to get rid of the pot with its plant and soil completely. Either move it outside or throw it away.
