At the higher end, you can get systems that monitor breathing, distinguish between your baby’s sounds and irrelevant background noise, and deliver impressive sleep analytics for mums who crave hypervigilant surveillance (guilty as charged). In our testing, the talk-back feature felt intuitive, with very little delay (some of the other monitors we tested felt sluggish and halting in this regard).
