This means that a novella of 80 pages was turned into a novel with huge spacing and a large font plus a few pages of doodles and Heartstopper-style comic pages (which I loved, don't get me wrong). Solitaire is an extraordinary novel … [Oseman] has captured her characters’ rage, humour and insecurity with aplomb. They are one of my all time favourite ships and I just love the way Alice Oseman has developed it over the years.

I loved to read about those tiny details like the fact that people will text Charlie because they know Nick is with him. And this is the first that we’ve heard directly from Oliver, who is such a sweet, energetic little boy. i did like occasional illustration of nick and charlie, it reminded me of the graphic novels that i got so used to for heartstopper. I recommend this novella to any fans of the Heartstopper books, it’s lovely to see how Nick and Charlie have progressed! Charlie is having a hard time enjoying Christmas since his entire family is focusing on his anorexia and his stay in a psychiatric ward, so he escapes to Nick’s house for some comfort. That said, its best to approach this without trying to overly compare it to the Heartstopper series. But when she meets the creator of her favourite podcast, a whole new world opens up - and studying may not be a part of it.
